New Resource added to the site
We've added a couple of new links to our Organizations and Agencies resource page:
The Social Security and Disability Resource Center and
Information about qualifying for disability benefits
According to Tracy Curtis, who sent us the links, "The Social Security and Disability Resource Center (SSDRC.com) is an informational website that provides answers to questions about how to apply for disability, how to appeal a claim in the event of a denial, how to navigate the federal system, and how to avoid certain mistakes that are commonly made by applicants. The site’s author is a former disability examiner for the social security administration."
Since our beginning the Arc of the Hill Country has been busy gathering resources for our members and posting them on our website. These are not endorsed by the Arc, but are simply meant to be a collection of possible resources for our members.
We have several different pages:
Community Resources
Information and Publications
Organizations and Agencies
Special Education
Online Learning
Specific Disability Resources
If you know of an organization that is not on our list, please be sure to send it our way!

Activities for the Summer
Hey everyone! I am trying to put together a list of activities that we can do this summer. They won't be big events, just things to keep us busy and active. I am thinking of a trip to Markley Farms to pick strawberries, and I am trying to get Lowes to sponsor a class on making something.
Do you have any ideas? Please let us know! I will try to put together a calendar for us. Let's aim for one activity a week. You don't have to go to everything, or you can go to them all! Even if you don't plan on going to anything, any ideas will still be helpful.
Join us at the forum to keep an on-going conversation as we get through the summer months together!

The Retreat is at 20155 San Marcos Hwy 80.
As you head north on I-35, exit 205 which is Hwy 80, Bobcat Stadium exit.
Turn right, go past Wal-Mart, over the river, over the new overpass, past the Pecan RV Park.
Shortly after that intersection slow down. It's on the right hand side, a few houses, small businesses,
a church & then this 1 story, flat roofed, white building.
That's it!!
